Ben A. Ubovich

Music Director

A dedicated musician and educator, Ben A. Ubovich’s career spans over twenty-five years. As the Music Director of San Marino High School and the San Marino Unified School District Music Coordinator, Ben instructs the wind ensemble, orchestra, concert band, marching band and the two elementary school’s fifth grade bands. Under Ben’s musical direction, his groups have garnered prestigious awards nationally and internationally. Mr. Ubovich holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from San Diego State University, a Master in Music degree in Saxophone Performance and Master of Arts degree in Education Technology from California State University Los Angeles. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in music education at Boston University.

Tony T. Nguyen

Asst. Music Director

Tony T. Nguyen is the assistant marching band director as well as drill designer and music arranger.  Tony has recorded albums and can be found on iTunes, which includes recordings with Clay Cook, who wrote half of John Mayer’s first Album “Room for Squares,” Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Boys II Men, and more.  Mr. Nguyen is the founder of the Incognito Drumline and Drum Corps, which competes in the Drum Corps International open class division.  Tony is also the founder of The Music Life and wants to make a difference in the community, emphasizing music students on self-development: “Life is not about Finding yourself, Life is about Creating yourself.”
