Friends, Family and Students of the  San Marino HS Music Department are cordially invided to the 2011/12 Music Department Banquet, A Night to Remember, on Tuesday, May 29 at the Almansor Country Club. The event is free for all music students who have already paid their membership dues and $35.00 for parents and guests (see invitation).  All students, parents and guests must RSVP by Tuesday, May 15 in order to attend. On Friday, May 25, SMHS Marching Band members will be able to vote on next year’s band council, which includes Band President and Drum Major.  Perspective Drum Major Candidates will go through a three part tryout session in front of the band culminating in a mace routine and vocal commands.  Besides filling out a band council application, all future Drum Majors and Band Presidents will go through a intense interview process by the current executive board.
All perspective band council members must fill out an application and turn it in on the deadline date in order to be on the ballot.

2012/13 Wind Ensemble Audition signups start on Thursday, April 19. During the month of April, music department wind, brass and percussion players are encouraged to sign up for audition times on a first come, first served basis.  The audition process will consist of scales (10 pts), prepared piece (60 pts) and sight reading (30 pts).  All audition information will be posted on the music dept. website starting on Monday, April 12.  Results of the auditions will be posted on or before Saturday, June 10. Sign up now for the best possible time.
